Mad For Wood is a Phoenix, Arizona based company created in August 2011 for the purpose of using 100% recycled furniture to create custom, handcrafted wood furniture designs. The, artisan and owner, Luz Madrid, creates smartly priced, unique wood furniture to accentuate and improve your home decor. She uses inspiration from her diverse Spanish/African-American background and her love for the arts and crafts.

Mad For Wood specializes in distressing wood furniture and using a unique combination of brilliant colors to paint the furniture. We use many exciting painting techniques to give each piece of furniture its own personality (e.g. blending of multiple colors, crackle paint, interior white wash, etc.)  The furniture accessories and furniture upholstery are also typically updated with a chic, modern, or antique look depending on the inspiration of the furniture. Many of the furniture pieces have a water based polyurethane sealant or an oil based lacquer sealant to give a unique finish and protect the surface of the furniture for years to come.

Everything from Mad For Wood is organic. The inspiration and style in the wood furniture are home-grown ideas of creativity and all of the furniture is 100% hand-crafted, artisan furniture.

The customer experience at Mad For Wood is an intimate one. The importance of the customer involvement in the transformation of the wood furniture is at the core of our company's strength. 

We are actively growing our Mad For Wood family one customer at a time with the hopes of creating a more ubiquitous and personalized experience of acquiring custom wood furniture for everyone. In doing all of this, we also want to give back to Mother Earth by transforming old, used, or reclaimed furniture into fresh, new, exciting pieces.
